The Fernery Art Studio was built by my dh, Steve, so that I wouldn't have all my junk in the house anymore. It is a dream come true, filled with all kinds of wonderful toys to satisfy the heart of any maker.

For more information, please feel free to email Barb at barb@thefernery.com.

The Fernery Art Studio welcomes visits from artists. Come play in the studio for a day or longer. We have guest rooms above the garage for visitors to stay. The studio is equipped for a number of interests.

We have a surface design studio equipped with washer and dryer, sewing machines, felting machine and two looms. You can dye and paint inside or outside on the 600 square foot covered porch. Lots of fabric and hand dyed lace is available for projects too.

We make Japanese style hand made paper. Everything you need from cooking fibers to pulling sheets is available for you to use.

There is a well equipped metal studio for jewelers and metal smiths. Need a copper corner for a book? Need a cool handmade button for a jacket? Make it here. Want to use a hydraulic press? Just want to see a working metal studio set up? Stop on by. We even have a flat lap to even out that cabochon you bought that has an uneven back.

Want to make books or personal journals? We have a special area for book making. A special table for tearing paper, and two lovely wooden book cradles are among my favorite tools. Lots of wonderful paper and space, paint, etc. to decorate pages. Not to mention an unreal stash of collageables!

Do you like beads? Come see my beads, old beads even ancient beads. New beads including lots of artist beads. Vintage beads out the whazoo. Ask me about my trip to Ghana to take a beadmaking class.

And don't forget all the glass and stuff to create mosaics. There is always something getting covered with glass and bits of things. Bring your own bits, or share what is there.

And if you are into nature photography, this is a wonderful place to explore. We have well over a hundred old Live Oak trees and all the flora and fauna you can imagine along with it.

Come for a visit!
